States of Jersey Police are recruiting now for transferees from UK police forces to fill vacancies in our uniformed operational response roles. We are committed to making the most of your existing skills whilst offering you the opportunity to operate in a unique policing environment.
Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands, with an area of 45 square miles. The Island combines a lively and cosmopolitan main town – home to our global finance sector – with sweeping, unspoilt beaches, fishing ports and rolling countryside. It’s just 14 miles off the north-west coast of France, 85 miles south of the English coast and is very well served by air to a range of UK and international cities.
Jersey is a Crown Dependency with its own government and legislation, While it’s in the British Isles, it’s not part of the UK. As a force, we serve a resident population of over 103,000 people as well as over 700,000 visitors each year.
We must be largely self-sufficient and develop and maintain a full range of policing skills. Many of our officers are trained in specialist skills over and above those needed for their normal operational duties, which could be used at any time. These include firearms, search, surveillance, hostage negotiation, collision investigation and public order.
It's still the policing job you know and love but delivered in a unique and stunning environment with a slower pace of life.
If you’d like to speak with one of our recruiting team you can contact them at recruitment@jersey.police.je
Successful applicants should be in post by January 2024.
*Applicants must have completed their probation in a UK police force.
We look forward to hearing from you.
