Police Officer Recruitment

Diverse, challenging & rewarding – the role of a Police Officer in Jersey is all of these things and much, much more.

Our Police Officers play a vital role in helping to keep Jersey safe. It’s not easy, but it is rewarding. Packed with new and interesting experiences every day, policing will enable you to work in partnership with the public and other organisations to make a difference to the local community.

New Officers begin their careers in Uniform Policing roles where you will have a key part to play in attending incidents, investigating crime, working with witnesses and providing support to individuals who have been subjected to crime and anti-social behaviour.

You’ll be physically fit, have good attention to detail, be decisive and be compassionate. You'll be a person who thrives on challenges and problem solving, and are willing to work hard to learn the skills necessary for this difficult but important role.

Applicants from all backgrounds and ethnic groups are encouraged to apply so that we can increasingly reflect the wonderfully diverse community we serve.

We’d like people with good local knowledge, a strong sense of public service and welcome those with additional language skills. You’ll be joining us at a time of change and you’ll need to be comfortable with shift work, spending time off-island for initial training (10-weeks) and be highly digital.

Do you think you could make a real difference? For further information and details of how to apply, please see the sections below.

Please note: All applicants applying for roles in the Police, and other Emergency Services within the States of Jersey, should be aware of the current service review being carried out. If you are offered a position within the States of Jersey, you will be offered both pay and terms that will be subject to change.
