Pride in Policing Awards

When it comes to policing, we are pretty proud of the work our police officers and staff do in keeping Jersey such a safe and special place.

And now we are asking you for your feedback on how we are doing, by nominating any police officer or member of police staff, who you think has provided excellent customer service, for a special award.

The PiP –Pride in Policing – Awards have been set up to provide the public with an opportunity to recognise anyone working within States of Jersey Police whose actions, support, initiative or help have gone beyond the call of duty.

The PiP Awards provide recognition and thanks not only for those on States of Jersey Police officers on the front line, but also those officers and members of staff who support the backbone of the organisation, all of them dedicated to providing a Police Force that the people of Jersey can be proud of.

Nomination is simple – just send us an email, telling us who you would like to nominate and an outline of the reason why.

We are encouraging you to submit a nomination where you believe the actions, response, support, understanding or help you have received from States of Jersey Police deserves special recognition and thanks, so why not show your Police Force what a great job they are doing by submitting a nomination form.

All nominations will be considered for a PiP Certificate of Commendation, which will be presented by the Chief of Police Mike Bowron, and will feature on our website. In addition, everyone earning a certificate will be put forward as a nominee for The PiP of the Year Award.

“The PiP Awards provide an excellent opportunity for the people of Jersey, as well as any visitors to the Island, to recognise and record excellent service, and for those officers and staff to be acknowledged for their exceptional service,” said Chief Officer Mike Bowron.

“Our aim is to deliver excellent policing, to inspire confidence in what we do and the way we do it, to be a Police Force that the people of Jersey – and our own staff – can be proud of.

“Letters we receive and responses to public opinion surveys show that the public do appreciate the work we do, so I am delighted that this initiative will provide people with the opportunity to express their thanks publicly, and for the individual officers and staff to have their efforts recognised.

“The power of ‘thank you’ is overwhelmingly and immensely appreciated, and a nomination for the Pride in Policing Award is a simple but influential way for someone to be able to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of an officer or member of police staff.”

If you have received excellent customer service or exceptional help and support from States of Jersey Police then please take the time to show what a great job they are doing.

Nomination Criteria:

  • the person being nominated has to be a current States of Jersey Police employee
  • the nomination has to relate to a recent experience (i.e. not something that happened a year ago, unless the contact and/or support is still actively on-going)
