Search for missing person continues

Police are continuing to search for missing man Adam Daniel McGrath today and are focusing efforts on the northwest tip of the Island.

Adam (58) was last seen leaving his home in Rue Du Maupertuis, St Clement at 05:30 on Monday morning. Officers believe he initially drove towards Gorey between 05:30 and 06:00 in the family car, a white Ford Fiesta Zetec. It was later found in the car park at Grosnez Castle, St Ouen.

Rescue workers are comprehensively searching the headland where Adam’s car was found, with assistance from numerous partner agencies. Today, search and rescue teams will be operating on foot, investigating areas of interest which were highlighted during yesterday’s aerial searches.

We would ask residents close to Grosnez to remain vigilant for sightings of Adam and to check their gardens and outbuildings. Nearby residents are also asked to check any footage from video doorbells or dashcams.

So far, police dogs, Jersey Coastguard, lifeboats, Jersey Search and Rescue, Channel Islands Air Search, Air Rescue Channel Islands, Jersey Fire & Rescue Service crews and honorary officers are all assisting in the search for Adam.

We understand that the public may be keen to assist in the search, but we would ask that they keep the area clear to allow the search and rescue efforts to continue unhindered.

Adam is described as a white man with white hair, approximately 5 feet nine inches tall and of broad build. He is thought to be wearing a black or navy short-sleeved top, dark grey or black wide legged tracksuit bottoms (either Lonsdale, Adidas make), and black Skechers.

Police would like to speak to anyone who had contact with Adam in the last week to come forward and call on 01534 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
