Sentencing for grave and criminal assaults

On Friday 7 June 2024, the Royal Court sentenced 27-year-old Gabrielle Linstead to four years and eight months in prison for two counts of grave and criminal assault.

Linstead committed the first offence in July 2022 at a private address in St Helier during an alcohol related incident and was arrested that night, however, the case did not progress at the time and was re-opened sometime later.

Whilst on bail for the above assault, Linstead committed a further nasty domestic abuse related assault on another person in October 2023. She was arrested for this additional assault and following two separate investigations into the assaults, Linstead pleaded guilty to both charges.

Both of Linstead’s victims required hospital treatment for their injuries.
