Missing Person Investigation Update

As police approach week three of searching for missing 51-year-old Thomas Frost, the investigation into his disappearance continues.

Thomas, who is 5’10, medium build with greying hair, left the address he was staying at, sometime between 10pm on Saturday 11th and 1am on Sunday 12th February. Police believe that when he left the house, he could have been barefoot, but wearing a crimson red T-shirt underneath a navy shirt with white buttons and navy jeans and that he may also be wearing a light grey hoodie.

Early on in the investigation, a 750-metre radius was established from Thomas’ last known location, and this resulted in 225 search taskings being identified to date, which included searching buildings and private premises, fields and open land searches and areas of water, all within that radius.

Over the last 20 days, various agencies have joined in the search for Thomas, Jersey Search and Rescue (JSAR), Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS), Channel Island Air Search, the Jersey Coastguard, CI Search and the Honorary Police have all been involved, as well as a Police Search Advisor (POLSA) from Guernsey and a Police Search Dive Team from Avon and Somerset. Searchers have made use of drones, boats, planes and a search and rescue dog.

The Police Search Divers have now completed their designated search areas, which included several large irrigation ponds, Val de la Mare reservoir and some coastal areas on the south and south-west of the Island. Using their divers and sonar equipment, they have given a high level of assurance that Thomas is not in those areas of water. They returned to the UK today.

Investigation enquiries generated 216 actions, which have all now been completed. The search areas have been covered and the searching is now being scaled down, however, the investigation remains open and any further information that comes to light will be investigated.

Thomas’ family remain supported by specialist officers.

Members of the public should still be watchful when out and about and report anything that may be helpful to the enquiry to the police on 01534 612612, option 2, option 4.
