Today [Friday 6 November], a jury at The Royal Court found 57 year old Jamie Lee Warn guilty of the murder Zsuzsanna Besenyei. Warn was originally found guilty in 2019, but since appealed and was granted a retrial.
Warn originally received a life sentence when he was tried in 2019. He will now be remanded in custody until he is sentenced at a later date.
Zsuzsanna disappeared in May 2018 and after her car was located at low tide on St Aubin’s beach on the 14 May, police launched a missing person investigation. Her body was discovered at La Pulec Bay on 16 May and following extensive CCTV and other passive data enquiries, Warn was arrested and charged with her murder.
Detective Inspector Craig Jackson, who led the initial investigation said: “From the beginning this was a long and complex investigation. We are pleased that the court has come to this conclusion after reviewing the evidence. In our minds there was no question, but we respected the court’s decision to retry this case. We now hope that Zsuzsanna’s family can move on with their lives and they gain some form of closure from this verdict."
