A man has been jailed for grooming and the possession of indecent images of children.
Leslie Bulpin, 37 (18.10.1982) was sentenced to three years imprisonment on Tuesday 15 December. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years and subject to a ten year restraining order.
He previously pleaded guilty to the sexual grooming of a female child on 10 July, and was found guilty of being in possession of indecent images of children on 21 July.
The victim of grooming initially approached police in June 2019 in relation to sexual grooming over mobile communication.
Alongside partner agencies, States of Jersey Police supported the victim to gather evidence and Bulpin was arrested on 21 October 2019. Having obtained his mobile phone and other devices, officers subsequently found evidence of indecent images of children.
Detective Inspector, Paul Ryan said: ‘Bulpin is a prolific and predatory offender who we know is a danger to our children and young people.
‘I would like to recognise the bravery and courage of the victim who initially approached us about the grooming offences; it is her assistance that has enabled us to pursue Bulpin and secure the charges.
‘Our message is clear: we will not tolerate any form of abuse against children, and we will continue to work tirelessly to target those who offend in this way.’
