States of Jersey Police have tonight arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of the rape of a teenage girl in Gorey in the early hours of Friday, 1 November.
However, they remain open-minded about the identity of the attacker so are still keen to receive information from the public.
It is for this reason that they are releasing an e-fit that was produced by a specialist team this afternoon.
The team, who work regularly with UK police forces and the National Crime Agency, flew into Jersey today and spent the afternoon with the victim producing an image that the victim describes as a ‘good likeness’.
Whilst not shown in the picture, she also describes the attacker as having a small gap between his top front teeth.
The police would now like to speak to anybody who thinks they recognise this man, in addition to anybody was in the Gorey Common area between 11:30pm and 12:30am on the night of the attack (31 October – Halloween) and is yet to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 612214 / 612612 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
