Incident at the Parade

Two men are in custody today following an incident at the Parade on Sunday 14th January where firearms officers were deployed.

Police were called at 11.30am yesterday following calls to say two men were fighting, and one had a knife.

Firearms officers attended and arrested the two men, who both remain in custody. A taser was drawn, but was NOT fired.

One is 32 and arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and grave and criminal assault. The other, a 44-year-old man, was arrested for breach of the peace by fighting.
