Violent Attack on Horse

Police are appealing for witnesses or for anyone who may have information regarding an incident that happened on Monday March 6th between 12:45 – 13:45 at a private premises along La Grande Route de St Pierre, St Peter.

A horse was deliberately injured in a violent attack and received a stab wound to its face. A veterinarian surgeon attended the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the horse. Police are liaising with the States Vet in relation to this matter. The injuries to the horse were serious and it is believed the horse will have a permanent disfigurement, however, the horse has now been treated and the injury is not thought to be life threatening.

This type of incident is a rare occurrence and Police are taking it very seriously.
