Appeal following road crash

Police were called by ambulance colleagues at 7:40am yesterday (Sunday) to reports of a white Suzuki Carry on its side near Bel Royal School, the driver had fled the scene.

The driver had been chased by a member of the public towards Le Providence/Le Marais Farm. It is not known the extent of his injuries however the level of damage to the vehicle involved would suggest the man could be hurt.

He was described as being in his late twenties/early thirties, approximately 5’4" tall, of medium build. He had short black hair and was believed to be wearing a dark red check shirt and dark trousers.

The vehicle had been stolen from the car park of St Peter’s Garden Centre a short time earlier.

It is unknown which route the vehicle took before it crashed at the entrance of Rue de Haut having hit two other cars and a granite wall.

Officers are asking anyone with any information of the driver no matter how insignificant they believe it to be to contact police on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
