Police are appealing for witnesses following two reported furze fires this week which involved the call out of the States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service.
The first occurred at 01.50 in the early hours of Monday 28th September, 2015 in the area of Gronez, St Quens where a large furze area was discovered alight.
The second occurred at 20.45 last night in the area of Petit Port, St Brelade where again a large furze fire approximately 65 x 25 metres was discovered alight.
Both fires are being treated as suspicious and may be linked to similar incidents earlier this summer. Crime Scene Investigators have attended both scenes and are working with the Fire service.
The Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously in these areas at the relevant times; or anyone who has any knowledge or information about who may be responsible for these Fires to come forward and speak to them either by contacting CID on 612200 or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
