Email Spam

Lancashire Police has identified that a spammer *external* to the force is spoofing a legitimate Lancashire email address to send emails including an attachment - an invoice containing the Dridex Trojan.
The content of these emails is believed to be as follows:

‘Hello
Please find attached an invoice that is now due for payment.
Regards
Lyn
Lyn Whitehead (10688)
Business Support Department – Headquarters’

The attachment is believed to contain malware.
The States of Jersey Police advice if you receive any unsolicited email, with an attachment or executable, from an unexpected source, is not to open the attachment and to delete the email.
