Witnesses Sought

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a cyclist and a child.

At about 18:55 on Friday 13th November a six year old boy was crossing the road with his mother at the junction of Stopford Road and David Place, opposite Barros Tropical Bistro. The green man turned green for them to cross the road and as they stepped off the pavement a cyclist came up the road, rode through the red light and collided with the child, knocking him down. The child suffered minor injuries as a result of this and although the cyclist said 'sorry' he did not stop and cycled off in the direction of David Place. He was wearing a bright yellow reflective builder's jacket and had a foreign accent. Officers would like to speak to the cyclist or anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly a blonde haired lady who stopped to administer First-Aid to the child.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
