Search Update

Search efforts will continue into the night into the disappearance of missing man Adrian Lynch. Officers from the States of Jersey Police and other agencies will be continuing the search based around Carrefour Selous in St Lawrence.

Today trained search staff worked through six key zones identified by the Jersey Police Search Advisor in consultation with the National Crime Agency’s Police Search Advisor. These were centred around St Lawrence, St Mary and St John and based on the last confirmed sightings of Adrian and his home address.

During the night officers will be concentrating on the central two zones which include the spot where Adrian was dropped off by a taxi, where his wallet and phone were found a short walk away and the last confirmed sighting at 2am on Saturday morning outside Bon Air Riding Stables.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Lee Turner is again issuing his plea to householders to check their properties, land and even insecure vehicles. If anyone is concerned about not being able to check please give officers a call on 612612.

Today Jersey Post delivered 4,000 leaflets to homes in the area with details of Adrian’s disappearance and this appeal.

Chief Inspector Turner said:

"We understand that members of the public want to help, I am a parent myself and there is an overwhelming urge to do what you can for this young man. We have regularly continued to review the tremendous offer of support from well-meaning and concerned members of the public.

During the last two days we have been able to deploy at any one time
upwards of 50 trained professionals to undertake searching in an organised and methodical way of the identified areas. This will continue into day three and having taken National advice and assessed the requirements for the next 24 hours the level of resourcing we currently have available will allow us to do the focused searches we have planned.

The best support members of the public can undertake within this area is to ensure, however unlikely, Adrian isn’t holed up somewhere with their garden, grounds or out buildings’.
