Vandalism to Public Toilets

Police are appealing for witnesses after a number of public toilets along the coast have been deliberately set fire to. The States of Jersey Fire and Rescue attended the incidents where required and extinguished the fires.

The public toilets targeted are located near the former La Folie Inn, at the bottom of La Haule Hill, at Corbiere Phare and the toilets opposite Jersey Pearl.

- LA FOLIE MALE TOILETS, COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, ST.HELIER
Incident Date / Time: Between 10-Sep-2014 / 20:00 and 11-Sep-2014 / 11:00

The fires are being treated as suspicious and it is understood that they were caused by toilet paper dispensers being set alight and left to burn. It is believed that these incidents have taken place during the early hours of the morning over the weekend and last week.

No injuries or harm occurred to any persons during these incidents but a considerable amount of fire and smoke damage was caused to all the properties in question.

Police are wishing to speak to any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious or know of persons who may have information to assist the Police to contact them on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
