CCTV Camera replacement

The States of Jersey Police are beginning to replace the Town Centre CCTV System – some of which has been in use for almost two decades.

The core equipment has been operational since 1995 with a number of additional cameras added over the years. The original cameras have been using the same technology since they were installed and are in desperate need of an upgrade.

During this year the system has been slowly migrated to use modern technology and cameras will only be replaced in locations where they already exist. No new cameras will be introduced.

The new cameras will produce a better image and have a better zoom capability than the current cameras

The replacement of cameras will commence on Monday 6th October.
