Commercial buildings - witness appeal

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fall of a 29-year-old man from Pier Road last night.

Police were called at 6.30pm to the incident opposite the La Folie Inn.

A 29-year-old man was taken to hospital in critical condition where he remains today.

One of the early witnesses described the man as being chased, however as yet this has not been substantiated.

Police are this morning appealing for two people who were in the area of Commercial Buildings last night to come forward.

They are a tanned white man, mid 60s, 5’8”-5’9”, with short stubble, light brown eyes, short dark brown hair which is greying, wearing a blue crew neck t-shirt.

The second man is white, in his early 20s, 5’8”, with short mousey hair, slim build, wearing a round neck dark blue t-shirt.

Already officers have spoken to many witnesses, conducted CCTV and house to house enquiries, as well as forensic work.

Specially trained family liaison officers are supporting the family.
