Warning to taxi owners

Police Officers are warning taxi owners to be vigilant following a number of thefts from cars, including five taxis.

In the past month officers have received reports of seven thefts from cars, five of which were taxis.

All thefts took place in St Helier.

Acting Inspector Craig Jackson said: “In all of these cases the thieves managed to steal something of value, whether it is the taxi float or electrical items. So we would ask people to think about what they leave in their cars – if it’s not in there then a thief can’t steal it.
“Let’s not make life easy for the handful of people who are intent on taking someone else’s hard earned property.

“And as always we would also urge anyone with any information relating to these thefts to call us on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
