Pre-school project

Pre-school children had a surprise visit from police last week - as part of their people who help us project.

The children from Little Oaks nursery were visited by Acting Inspector Dave Turnbull after being volunteered by AI Turnbull's 3-year-old daughter.

Topics of conversation include what police do, when can police help and explaining what is naughty and what is good behaviour.

Following the classroom session the youngsters had a chance to sit in a police car,  sound the siren and try on some police uniform.

AI Turnbull said: "We had a lovely morning with the children, they were so excited to have us there and apparently for days were transfixed with anything police."

The youngsters were left with a lasting reminder of the day - some plastic police helmets for their dressing up box!
