Emergency services were called to a Road Traffic Collision that occurred at approximately 10:05pm, Monday 30th December 2013.

The collision occurred on Victoria Avenue near to the junction with First Tower.

Police can now confirm that a 22-year-old man involved in this evening’s collision has died. He was treated initially at the scene by paramedics and then by medical staff at the Accident and Emergency Department where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The collision occurred between a green Volvo and a white Honda Integra.

An 18-year-old man and a 47 year old woman were also injured during the collision. Both are currently being treated at the General Hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening.

Specially trained Family Liaison Officers are currently with the man’s family.

Victoria Avenue is currently closed and is likely to remain so during the night whilst enquiries continue.
