Christmas is a busy time for Police Officers everywhere – and Jersey is no exception.

With Christmas parties, stresses of the festive season and temptation of criminals all having an effect there are lots of safety messages and information that officers want to give out during the holiday period.

So instead of bombarding the public with ad hoc messages, this year the Force produced an advent calendar of key subjects to tackle over the festive period.

And while all of the subjects have a serious message the idea was to tackle them in a humorous, engaging and festive way.

Over the 12 days, subjects will include domestic violence, thefts from cars and drink driving, amongst others.

Superintendent Rob Bastable, Head of Uniform Services, said: “Christmas can be a busy time for us and we plan our resources accordingly, however the public can help us by heeding our advice.

“Some of it may seem obvious but it all stems from experience of things that have happened in recent years.

“What we want this Christmas is for people to do what they want to do, whether it’s going out to the office party or doing their Christmas shopping, and doing it safely. And we want people to know that if they need us we will be here.”

The Twelve videos produced by the Force, 'star'officers and staff, with Santa making a guest appearance in the opening video.

Partner agencies, such as the Fire Service and Ambulance, were also involved in making specific videos.
