The States of Jersey Police would like to issue the following statement after an email circulated about drinks spiking.

"We are aware of an email circulating in Jersey raising concerns about allegations of ˜drink spiking' in a local nightclub. While we would always caution people to make sure they know what, and how much, they are drinking, we currently have no evidence of incidents involving drinks being spiked. While investigations are ongoing, we are confident that neither the incidents nor the injuries in the two cases referred to in the email are linked.

"It is always wise counsel, wherever you are, to keep your drink in view, ask friends to look after it, if you need to leave it for a few minutes, and make sure you know exactly what you are drinking if someone offers you a drink.

"If you are concerned about anything you see or suspect, don't hesitate to contact us. Our officers regularly visit Jersey's bars and clubs, working closely with managers to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone using their establishments, and we are always on hand to help if you need us.
