Medals to mark 60 years

With a proud 60 year history of policing the Island, there has been plenty to celebrate for the anniversary of States of Jersey Police.
And, on the official anniversary day “ Thursday May 24th 2012 “ the celebrations got underway with the presentation of a specially-commissioned 60th Anniversary Coin “ presented to all States of Jersey Police officers and staff.
Chief Officer Mike Bowron hosted the event, which also included the presentation of HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal to police officers who have been serving continuously for the past five years.
The event took place in the Henry Le Brocq Hall at Police Headquarters where, among those collecting their coins and medals, Superintendent Andre Bonjour was presented as the current longest-serving Police Officer, with 31 years under his belt.
Assistant Home Affairs Minister, Deputy Lyndon Farnham, also attended the ceremony, presenting The Chief Officer with his own Anniversary Coin and Jubilee Medal.
