Pupils watch as teacher is handcuffed!

Youngsters at Rouge Bouillon School received a special visit from PC Carly Bolton this week “ as part of States of Jersey Police's focus on engaging with the community.

PC Bolton, from the Town Policing Unit, dropped by Rouge Bouillon School to talk to the pupils about the role of the police and give them some basic safety advice.

Police officers regularly visit island schools to engage with children and let them know who they can turn to if they are in trouble and need help.

PC Bolton said: "I find the visits a really good tool because the children get to know us, so when we are out on our patrols they don't feel scared to approach us and report any issues.

"It is also a good chance for them to learn about the role of the police, although many were just fascinated by my handcuffs and were very amused when I demonstrated their use on their teacher!
