Witnesses sought following town assault

The States of Jersey Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered facial injures in an incident in St Helier on Tuesday.

The incident is alleged to have happened around midday on Tuesday 1 November 2011, when the 29-year-old man was assaulted near St Thomas' Church, Val Plaisant. The man suffered a broken jaw and was treated in hospital for his injuries.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault, and police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around Convent Court at lunchtime and may be able to assist with their ongoing investigation, to contact detectives on (01534) 612200 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
