Security reminder following alleged walk-in thefts

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 09:30 AM ON WEDNESDAY 13 OCTOBER 2010

THE States of Jersey Police are warning Islanders about a small spate of alleged walk-in thefts which have occurred over the last few days, where cash has been taken.

Enquiries are now ongoing to trace the suspects connected with the alleged thefts, including examining CCTV footage.

The Police are reminding Islanders to always lock doors and windows of homes and commercial properties as well as outbuildings, so that thieves cannot easily walk into buildings, and to ensure valuables and money are not on sight, and where possible, are securely locked away.

Any suspected thefts should be reported to the Police as soon as possible so that enquiries can begin.
