Largest ever cocaine seizure success for SoJP

Speaking about today's sentencing, head of the crime services team, DI Mark Hafey said:

˜This case concerns the importation into Jersey of approximately 2kg (1959 grams) of cocaine with a street value in excess of £156,000.

˜The States of Jersey Police are committed to making Jersey safer by dismantling Serious and Organised Crime syndicates such as these.

˜This case, involving multiple defendants, involved painstaking and difficult detective work undertaken by the SOJP in unravelling this particularly intricate and sophisticated conspiracy working in partnership with Strathclyde Police over an 18 month period which resulted in bringing to justice a crime group intent on maximising profit from their trade.

The Crown has commended the States of Jersey Police for this work.'
