Alleged serious sexual assault reported to Police

RELEASED TO MEDIA ON TUEDAY 27 OCTOBER AT 16:25 PM

Following a report of an alleged serious sexual assault against an 18 year old woman on Monday afternoon, in St Clement, which was reported to the Police just after 3 pm yesterday, the States of Jersey Police can confirm that a 30 year old man is in custody helping Police with their enquiries regarding this alleged offence.

Members of the public who may have seen a white woman in her teens, and a black man in his thirties, wearing a red top and black tracksuit bottoms walking along St Clement's Coast Road, between the White Horse pub and Green Island between 1:30 pm and 2:45 pm yesterday afternoon are asked to contact CID officers on 612200 or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

It is not known what the woman was wearing.

It is known that the man and woman were in the area of Howard Davis Park before making their way towards St Clement's Coast Road.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
