Six in Court following alleged assaults on visiting students

SIX girls will appear before the Magistrate today charged with affray.

The six girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged yesterday (Thursday 21 May) following an alleged assault on two visiting French students to the Island.

One of the girls is aged 12, two are 13 years old, and three are 14 years old.

The alleged attack happened in Roseville Street on Tuesday 19 May at around 10 pm, and soon after, officers arrested youths in connection with the incident. The alleged victims are both girls aged 18.

A 15 year old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident, and was released pending further enquiries.

Any one who witnessed the alleged assaults who has not already come forward to the Police is asked to call the Police on 612612 or give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
