Witness appeal following Le Marais incident

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 9 AM ON MONDAY 13 JUNE 2009

The States of Jersey Police are seeking witnesses and / or information to an incident that occurred in the car park outside G block at Le Marais in St Clement at approximately 2:45 pm on Saturday afternoon (11th July).

At this time, a group of 3 or 4 men in a green coloured car were seen in the company of two girls (believed to be teenagers) all of whom left in the car a short time later. It is believed that one of the girls got into the boot of the car before it left, and that one of the two girls may have come from either G or H block immediately before this event.

The Police would like to speak to anyone who may have either seen this sequence of events, or who may have seen a car fitting this description and containing a group of people as described since this time, or indeed anyone who has any information relating to this incident.

The Police would like to stress that this event may be entirely innocent and would therefore particularly encourage either the male occupants of the vehicle or the two girls to come forward in order for the police to complete their enquiries into this report.

House to house enquiries have been undertaken in the Le Marais area, and these continue.

It is requested that any information be passed to either the CID department at Police Headquarters on 612200 or to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
