Witness appeal following La Rocque Harbour incident

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 9:20 am on FRIDAY 5 JUNE

The States of Jersey Police are appealing for a couple seen in the La Rocque harbour area on Tuesday evening (2 June) at approximately 19:30 “ 19:45 pm to make contact with them.

The couple may have witnessed two men and a woman talking in a car parked on the slipway near to the toilets, which is believed to be a grey or silver Toyota. It is possible that the car is a saloon car, with a Jersey number plate, and the registration ended in the digits 35. The Police have concerns for the welfare of the woman who was in the car, who was with two men in the vehicle.

It is alleged that the woman may have been forced into the car, in Kensington Place between 19:20 pm and 19:30 pm on Tuesday night. Police would stress that she is safe and well, but enquiries continue into this incident.

The couple in the area may have been using a mobile phone at the time or indicated that they were intending to do so.

If the couple recognise themselves and can assist the Police, they are asked to call 612612.
