Busy weekend for States of Jersey Police

IT was a busy weekend for the Police as they dealt with a variety of incidents between Friday night and Sunday and which saw 48 people arrested for offences including assaults, burglary, public disorder, drugs, theft, taking and driving away motor vehicles,  drink driving, nuisance calls, and motoring offences.

Of those arrested, 16 persons have been or will be charged with offences and will attend Court or Parish Hall.   22 people have been released whilst enquiries continue and 7 others remain in custody in relation to ongoing investigations.

Police dealt with many domestic related incidents, noisy parties, complaints of loud music and incidents involving youths.

Both States of Jersey Police and Honorary Officers also worked together over the weekend to police the music event in People's Park.  There was only one arrest at the event (drug related), which otherwise passed without incident.

The police would like to thank those people who helped in the many investigations over the weekend and also take this opportunity to remind householders and car owners that they can reduce the chances of becoming victims of crime by ensuring that their properties are secure and locked when being left.  As always police would urge anyone who sees anything suspicious to contact them on 612612 or call Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111.
