Suspect sought following attempted robbery at Snow Hill

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 13:30 PM ON FRIDAY 12 JUNE 2009

The States of Jersey Police can confirm that they are currently dealing with an incident in Colomberie, which is being treated as a suspected robbery.

This was reported to Police at approximately 11:45 am by a member of the public.

It is alleged that just before 12 o clock, a woman was threatened by a young man who was holding a knife. It is stressed that the knife was not used, and the woman was not physically harmed. However, the suspect took around £180.

Police are currently looking for the suspect who is described as being approximately 16 years old, wearing a dark jacket and trousers with short dark hair. It is possible he is carrying, or has dropped or thrown away, an orange tea towel with a floral print on it. It is possible he may have made off down either La Motte Street or into the Colomberie area.

Anyone who sees a man meeting this description is asked to call the Police immediately on 612612. Officers are currently searching for him.
