Message to domestic abuse perpetrators

If you are an abuser you will be punished for your behaviour. Your crime will not be tolerated and will be dealt with by the States of Jersey Police:

  • We will investigate the crime
  • We will build a strong case against you
  • Officers can charge you
  • The Law Officers Department can then make the decision to prosecute you
  • Bail conditions can be put on you to stop you committing more crime
  • If you break this bail, you will be punished.
  • A domestic abuser can can be sent to prison, fined or both.

Jersey Probation and After-Care service offer a Domestic Abuse programme (JDAP) for any adult who has behaved abusively towards their current or previous partner(s) and who wants to change their behaviour. You need to be reffered to this programme. For more information see their Website
