Safer St Helier aims to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in St Helier and addresses four main issues: alcohol and licensing; late-night transport; anti-social behaviour; and the perception or fear of crime.
The group is a partnership between the community, the Home Affairs Dept and the Parish of St Helier addressing the issues of crime and anti-social behaviour in St Helier.
One of the group's biggest successes is the 'Q-safe' scheme, a partnership with the Jersey Taxi Drivers Association, for those travelling by taxi late at night.
The scheme has proven to reduce levels of crime and disorder, and increasing the feeling of safety in the Weighbridge area of town.
