Alison Fossey is Detective Superintendent, Head of CID (Criminal Investigation Department).

Alison Fossey holds the rank of Detective Superintendent and has responsibility for the Criminal Investigation Department which incorporates CID and the Drug Squad, the Public Protection Unit (PPU) and Digital Forensics (DFU).

Alison has 25 years of experience serving as an officer in Lothian & Borders Police and Strathclyde Police before transferring to the States of Jersey Police in 2002.

During her career with the States of Jersey Police, Alison has held key roles at different ranks in Major and Serious Crime Investigation & Public Protection.

She played a significant part in the development of many local multi-agency partnership arrangements such as JMAPPA, MARAC and MASH and was the Senior Investigating Officer and States of Jersey Police lead on the high profile Public Inquiry into historical abuse investigations.

She was appointed Acting Superintendent Community Policing in August 2018. and promoted to substantive Superintendent in December 2020.
