Operation Gable – Update a week on

One week on, following the death of Ana Rebelo, States of Jersey Police continue to establish exactly how and why she met her death.

Her death continues to be treated as suspicious and a man remains on police bail, so the investigation remains a matter of sub judice.

Forensic work and searches have now concluded at the house in Victoria Street, where Ana was found and yesterday evening the house was released back to the family.

Further enquiries continued over the weekend, including interviews of key witnesses, in order to help police establish Ana’s last movements.

We believe she got home at about 8:30pm on Monday 3rd April and was reported found dead the following morning by family members. There is no sign of forced entry to the property and we reiterate that we believe there is no risk to the community.

30 officers and staff continue to work on the enquiry. In excess of 100 lines of enquiry have been and are being pursued.

Specially trained Family Liaison Officers continue to work with the family and in support of the family.

Anyone with any information is again asked to contact police on 612612 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
